I haven’t posted in a while because I’ve been away on holiday and one of the places I visited was Carlisle Castle.
Carlisle Castle is almost in the heart of the city and if you’re driving through Carlisle you cant help but drive past or see the castle.
I’m not going to go into the history on who built what, or how old it is or any of that stuff, there plenty of information in the English Heritage site which is here: History of Carlisle Castle | English Heritage (english-heritage.org.uk)
Its easy to get to, there plenty to see and the views from the battlements are ace.
