No, really! Serious question, why do people treat trans folk differently, specifically male to female trans people?
I don’t expect people to understand me, or understand what I’m going through in my life or even want to understand anything about my life.
I’m not asking anyone to understand.
But, why do people not afford me the same airs and graces they expect me to offer them because I am a trans woman?
Why?
Men, Women, Young and old. Well mainly old, to be honest, all either look down their noses at me or their beliefs seem to make them think they have some moral superiority over me.
I’m not bitter about this or do I bear a grudge, but I just really can’t understand why!
Having spoken at length to friends who are Trans, both Male to Female and Female to Male, and the consensus is that people do not treat female to male trans people the same as male to female. Maybe it’s because they don’t meet as many Female to Male trans people or Trans Males aren’t as visible in society, or maybe its because the Media at large only defines “Trans” as MTF and holds up MTF in all articles about Transgender people.
